SFH CURSOR Engine Contributes to the Successful Load Test of Fuxing Yangtze River Bridge

2026-03-18

On February 6, 2026, the load test for Fuxing Yangtze River Bridge was successfully completed. During the test, a total of 120 SAIC Hongyan heavy-duty trucks undertook the core loading tasks, demonstrating exceptional stability and reliability in participating in the bridge's "final major test," providing solid support for safety verification before the bridge's opening to traffic. SFH Cursor engines installed on these trucks exhibited excellent stability, robust power performance, and precise control responsiveness throughout the entire test process, ensuring efficient progress with outstanding performance.

Load testing is the most critical safety inspection before a bridge opens to traffic, directly determining its subsequent operational safety and reliability. This test employs a stepwise loading mode, involving 120 heavy-duty trucks each weighing 35 tons, totaling a load of 4,200 tons. It requires completing multiple rigorous tests under 18 working conditions, including static parking, uniform-speed driving at varying velocities, and braking tests. These tests comprehensively assess key indicators such as steel box girder strain, main cable tension, and tower deflection, imposing stringent demands on the dynamic performance, stability, and control precision of the vehicles.

As the "power heart" of the test vehicles, the CURSOR engine installed in the participating vehicles Leverage a world-class advanced manufacturing management system and global supply chain advantages, it achieves product quality with European standards while undergoing specialized optimizations for heavy-duty operations, delivering outstanding performance in power output, stability, and reliability.

During the test process, the technological advantages of the CURSOR engine were fully demonstrated. Its electronically controlled high-pressure common rail system achieved efficient fuel atomization and precise injection, ensuring smooth and uniform power output. This allowed the heavy truck to maintain stable speed while driving at a constant pace on the bridge, facilitating accurate data collection by the testing system. In response to frequent start-stop and precise docking requirements during the test, the CURSOR engine's exceptional responsiveness enabled the vehicle to achieve precise positioning and smooth start-stop operations on the bridge, perfectly meeting the stringent demands of various test conditions.

In addition to that, the long-lasting and durable product characteristics of the CURSOR engine provide solid support for zero failures throughout the entire testing process. This series of engines has undergone rigorous experimental verification, achieving 15,000 hours of operation without major repairs, extending the DPF service interval to 450,000 kilometers, and increasing the oil change mileage to 100,000 kilometers. These improvements significantly reduce equipment failure rates, ensuring the stable operation of 120 test vehicles under high-intensity and prolonged load testing without any power system failures affecting the test progress. The actual performance validates its "high reliability" product advantage and demonstrates SFH's technical prowess as a Chinese high-tech, low-emission diesel engine pioneer.

The Fuxing Yangtze River Bridge, as a key control project of the Jianglong Expressway, has a total length of about 1500 meters and a bridge deck width of 41.1 meters. After completion, it will become an important hub connecting the high-speed network of the San Xia area and promoting the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. The successful completion of the CURSOR engine assisted load test by SFH is not only a concentrated demonstration of its product strength, but also a strategic partner of SAIC Hongyan. SAIC Hongyan and SFH have been cooperating together for many years. The success of this test is another important manifestation of the two sides' collaborative efforts to contribute the strong infrastructure country

Relying on FPT's global technological resources, SFH has always created power products that meet user needs with high standards and high quality, continuously promoting technological innovation and product upgrades, and enabling CURSOR engines to play a core role in multiple fields such as heavy-duty transportation, engineering construction, and generator sets. In the future, SFH will continue to deeply cultivate the field of power, providing strong power support for more infrastructure projects and logistics transportation scenarios with more advanced technology, more reliable products, and higher quality services, and writing a new chapter in the high-quality development of the heavy-duty power industry.
